Rebecca Hea, Psy.D., Executive Director (University of Denver, 1995). Dr. Hea is the Executive Director for Denver Children’s Home. She has been with DCH for over 17 years. Prior to becoming Executive Director, she served as Associate Executive Director of DCH for eight years and prior to that was the After School Program Treatment Leader. Her areas of clinical expertise include psychodynamic psychotherapy, assessment, trauma, cultural competence, training, and outcome research.
Patty Rivers, CPA, Finance Director (University of Alaska, Anchorage School of Business, 1993) Ms. Rivers is a licensed CPA and joined the DCH staff as Finance Director in September 2007. She has experience as an auditor and tax accountant with KPMG, as the Finance Director for Alaska Children’s Services, a residential treatment center for adolescents and youth in Anchorage, and as the Chief Financial Officer for the Southeast Alaska Regional Health Consortium in Juneau, Alaska.
Shannon Lowe, Development Director (Iowa State University, College of Human Sciences, 2000) Ms. Lowe joined DCH staff in March 2007. For over 10 years, she has dedicated her time, talent, and leadership to the nonprofit sector in many capacities. Her spark for nonprofits began in Iowa for Youth and Shelter Services, AIDS Project and Iowa Hospice Organization, to California for the American Red Cross, and Colorado for HospiceCare of Boulder and Broomfield Counties.
Mark Stone, M.D., Medical Director (University of Colorado, School of Medicine, 1980) Dr. Stone began his career at Denver Children's Home in 1985 as a psychiatric consultant and became Medical Director in 1987. Dr. Stone is a diplomat of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He also maintains a private practice treating adults and adolescents.
Meredith T. Smith, Psy.D., LP, Residential Treatment Leader (Illinois School of Professional Psychology, 2008). Meredith is a Clinical Psychologist in the State of Colorado. Prior to starting at DCH, Dr. Smith was a therapist at a Colorado community mental health center for 6 years, specializing in early childhood therapy. Prior to completing her doctoral internship in Colorado, Dr. Smith worked as a therapist in adult residential, day treatment, and general outpatient settings. Stephen Ginsberg, Psy.D., Residential Treatment Leader (University of Denver, 2011) As a doctoral student, Dr. Ginsberg worked at DCH as a therapist in the day treatment, residential, outpatient, in-home, and emancipation programs. Before becoming a Treatment Leader, Stephen worked with children, adolescents, couples, and families in community mental health and college counseling settings. Tara Folan, PhD., LMFT, Daytime Treatment Leader (Doctorate in Human Development and Family Studies, University of Connecticut, 2005). Tara is a Colorado Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). Before becoming the Treatment Leader of the Daytime Program, Tara served as a full-time therapist for DCH in both the Residential and Day Treatment Programs for over 5 years. Debbie Huerta, M.A.Ed., Director of Education (University of Phoenix, Masters in Diverse Learning and Principal Licensure, 2000) Debbie holds professional licenses through the Colorado Department of Education as a Director of Special Education, School Principal and Special Education teacher. She has dedicated her professional life to the development and implementation of educational programs for at-risk youth. Debbie has teaching and administrative experience in the K-12 public school systems, community colleges, and not for profit facilities. Megan G. Vogels, MA, LPC, Community-Based Programs Treatment Leader (Masters in Mental Health Counseling, Boston College, 2004) Megan is a Colorado Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Before arriving at Denver Children's Home, Megan’s experience includes working with adolescent males in a juvenile detention facility at the Massachusetts Department of Youth Services and as a family therapist with children and families at Riverside Community Care’s Family Partnership Program. Before becoming the Treatment Leader of Community-Based Programs, Megan served as Clinical Supervisor and therapist in DCH’s Intensive In-Home Program for over 3 years.
