SUMMARY
The primary function of the General Therapist is to provide family, individual, and/or group psychotherapy to children and their families in either the Day Treatment or Residential Programs, with occasional services offered to Outreach and Intensive In Home. The General Therapist will to assist the Day Treatment or Residential staff and teachers, and other involved agencies, with providing the services needed to allow the child to be successful. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Have the knowledge and the ability to understand and implement Denver Children's Home’s (DCH) policies and procedures.
· Provide appropriate individual, family and/or group therapy to clients assigned to him/her by the Day Treatment/Residential Program Directors.
· Work with the treatment team to design an approach that is sensitive to the client’s needs and is appropriate to the client’s chronological, developmental, and educational abilities, and will develop and implement appropriate treatment plans.
· Serve as the primary contact person between DCH and the client’s guardian and all members of the client’s caseload (i.e. caseworker, PO, GAL).
· Be responsiblefor scheduling and attending all relevant appointments, including monthly staffings, medication evaluations, IEPs and recommitment meetings where appropriate.
· Be responsible for the development/continuation of a collaborative relationship with treatment teams and other DCH departments and staff.
· Complete all required paperwork (i.e. contact logs, case notes, treatment plans, monthly reports, CIRs, (and other reports and/or assessments as required), and adhere to all required deadlines.
· Develop, maintain and terminate therapeutic relationships with clients as is appropriate to their success during their time at DCH and after they leave.
· Attend all agency required initial and refresher trainings, including Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), First Aid/CPR, and other trainings as identified.
· Attend all agency required meetings, including weekly team meetings, clinical meetings, in-services, and other meetings as identified.
· Have the knowledge of and an ability to implement the DCH level system, relevant therapeutic programs, and appropriate disciplinary procedures.
· Provide home-based visits, as required by county Day Treatment contracts.
· Work collaboratively with teachers to assist them with milieu/classroom behavior management for their assigned clients and serve as liaison between teachers and staff as appropriate.
· Have the knowledge of how to place a child on special status restricting their privileges and the procedures regarding the management of these students, and will implement this as needed.
· Have the knowledge of and an ability to facilitate and implement team decisions.
· Provide consistent and effective supervision of all children placed under their care.
· Demonstrate an ability to set effective limits which are consistent with plans developed during a student’s assigned treatment team, and that are consistent with the agency and program's philosophy.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education and/or Experience
- Must have at least two years experience working with children and/or adolescents, preferably with those with significant emotional disabilities/behavioral issues and/or trauma.
- Must have family therapy experience.
- Must have a minimum of a master’s degree in a mental health related field and be licensed or license eligible in the state of Colorado.

SUMMARY
Follow daily routines specified by the Food Service Supervisor. Ensure meals are completed in a timely manner and food is presented in an appetizing and aesthetically pleasing manner. Prepare snacks, sack lunches and special meals including vegetarian and special diet meals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Opening
· Check activity calendar and bulletin boards for any special functions.
· Prepare all entrees for dinner according to time schedule.
· Dinner cook assists lunch cook if needed.
Dinner
· Prepare dinner.
· Check to make sure hot unit has been left on. Check to make sure pan liners are clean and filled with water.
· Set up hot table with hot food. Put out wet and dry towels on hot unit.
· Serve dinner and coordinate with assistant to ensure the quantity of food is adequate and that all clients are feed in a timely manner.
Closing
· Wash, dry and put away pans.
· Clean pots sink.
· Clean all equipment and work areas used.
· Assist in closing. Close and lock all windows.
· Check and record all temperatures on all refrigerators and freezers.
· Check fryer, oven, range and fan to make sure they are turned off.
· Turn off lights and lock doors and windows.
· Friday’s dinner cook places a new menu for the coming week on the dining room door.
· Clean cooks table opposite stove, butcher block and steamer.
· Pull meats needed for menu. If defrosting is needed, put in walk-in three (3) days before needed.
· Clean all carts used by cooks.
· Clean all stainless steel in main kitchen every other day.
· Clean ovens once a week.
· Clean can opener every day.

SUMMARY
The goal of thisposition is to provide for the physical and psychological needs of the residents under their care. This includes making sure the environment is safe and that all interactions with the residents are therapeutic opportunities for learning and facilitate their growth and healing.
Positions with direct care responsibilities will be filled by persons with the personal characteristics and experience to care for the residents’ appropriately. These characteristics will enable them to win the respect of residents, guide residents in development and role model to residents’ effective home management. Job Specific Responsibilities
The Overnight Relief Youth Treatment Counselor I, in conjunction with other Dorm Team members and the Overnight Team, performs various tasks which promote consistent dorm structure and maintenance.
· Works in dorms assigned by Treatment Supervisor (TS) and all assigned shifts.
· Follows through and is consistent with the Dorm Team decisions.
· Knows and approves of where residents are at all times.
· Understands and follows the Level System and Discipline Procedure.
· Calculates the clients’ contracts at night to determine the points earned for the day and the possibility of moving up, down or staying neutral on the Level System.
· Supervises and manages residents during the awake hours at bedtime and wake-ups from 6:00am-8:30am with chores, hygiene and proper cafeteria room behavior.
· Encourage positive transition from dorm to cafeteria for breakfast.
· Be familiar with food programs and food restrictions of clients.
· Supervises residents at night by making dorm rounds, room checks, and bed checks on a scheduled basis.
· Demonstrates an ability to supervise needed transports for emergencies such as hospitalization, dentist appointments, etc.
· Observes and participates, with other staff; in the supervision of Home-wide activities.
· Demonstrates an ability to set effective limits, consistent with the treatment plans, team philosophy, and Home-wide disciplinary procedure.
· Attends supervision sessions as required by the Overnight TS or assigned Relief Supervisor.
· Observes and cooperates with other staff in emergency situations.
· Implements specific behavioral objectives as established by the Team.
· Supervises and insures appropriate resident interactions.
· Develops, maintains and terminates therapeutic relationships.
· Records observations of significant behaviors on a daily and nightly basis in logs.

· Works toward improving his/her own clinical skills through participation in bi-weekly supervisions with the Overnight TS and building wide trainings. SUMMARY
The Daytime Youth Treatment Counselor assists the teacher in providing a positive learning environment and experiences which stimulate children’s social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Daytime Youth Treatment Counselor’s essential duties and responsibilities within the education department include:
· Assisting the teacher in utilizing various instructional strategies and techniques that ensure student participation in educational programming.
· Assisting the teacher in maintaining a classroom environment in a manner that is conducive to learning.
· Demonstrating knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care, treatment, and services for the social/ emotional needs of children and adolescents.
· Managing challenging behaviors in the classroom/dorms/Recovery Center with the use of the de-escalation strategies as identified in the students’ BSP, treatment plan, and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention.
· Ensuring the supervision and behavioral management of students/residents assigned to his/her care and the development of an atmosphere conducive to learning.
· Being a positive, contributing team member to all teams to which the Daytime Youth Treatment Counselor is assigned.
Non School Time:
· Assisting in planning and coordination of activities scheduled for non-school weekdays.
· Following through on responsibilities outlined under behavior management and counseling.
· Ensuring communication of the behavior exhibited by residents assigned to the YTC’s care to all other staff that will assume responsibility for the care of the resident.
· Documenting significant incidents and reporting of these incidents for the Day Shift Treatment Supervisor.

Daytime Youth Treatment Counselor must possess specific skills and knowledge in reading, writing, mathematics and instruction to be considered qualified to assist in instruction.

- Earning an Associate’s (or higher) degree; OR
- Completing at least two years (48 credit hours) of study at an institution of higher education; OR

To apply effective behavioral management techniques and crisis intervention approaches which help to deescalate residents in crisis and return them to daytime milieu or classroom.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitates/Supervises Recovery Center during daytime hours
- Oversees and engages in crisis intervention and therapeutic interventions with students in distress or crisis
- Assists in the creation of positive and effective behavioral management interventions consistent with treatment plans
- Conducts safety evaluations with students when needed
- Consults with staff regarding programs for students
- Provides support to staff in using lower level interventions
- Oversees all aspects of transportation
- Schedules transportation for morning/evenings (to/from school)
