Volunteering can change lives. We are so grateful when a group or individual decides they want to help by donating time and energy. We have plenty of opportunities for you to get involved. If you'd like to schedule a tour to learn more, please reach out to Maria Garces, Development Manager, at 720-881-3350 or mgarces@denverchildrenshome.org or fill out the Volunteer Interest Form.

Volunteer Opportunities for Groups

Cook a Meal

Provide a healthy and home cooked meal for kids and staff to enjoy. Without your generosity, kids at DCH would only have meals that have been prepared and packaged offsite. You must schedule your meal at least two weeks in advance.

Host an Activity in the Home

Schedule a time to come in and play basketball, kick ball, volleyball, any other game or organize a game night with bingo, crafts or minute-to-win-it games. Our kids always love fun activities put on my volunteers!

Deep Clean the Home

You can make a difference by deep cleaning our building. The Home was built in 1902 and is always in need of a crew to clean or paint.

Garden Volunteers

During the summer months, our Therapy Garden can use some extra hands to help weed, water and care for the plants.

Plan an Event or Outing

Sponsor a group of kids and staff to head to an event outside of the Home. Send them to a show, a game, a movie, performance, museum or something fun that they wouldn’t be able to do without you.

Host a Fundraiser

Support DCH by planning an event and having all proceeds go to the Home. There are so many options (jeans days at work, Colfax Marathon team, benefit happy hour, etc.) and we would love to talk with you about how we can help.

Host a Drive

We are always in need of supplies and items in the Home. Support our kids by holding a donation drive. We have a fall School Supply drive, Holiday toy drive and a wish list for household items we always need.

Volunteer Opportunities for Individuals

Join our Gala Committee

We’re always looking for creative and passionate individuals to help us plan our annual September Gala.

Gala committee members are responsible for assisting with décor, soliciting auction items, day-of set up and clean up and selling tickets to their professional and personal networks.

Volunteer at the Golf Tournament

Our Golf Tournament will be Monday, June 5th at the beautiful Arrowhead Golf Course. We need volunteers to register guests, observe certain holes and help with set up and clean up.

Garden Volunteer

Pick up some shifts working on out therapy garden. You'll help kids and staff with regular garden chores like planting, weeding, watering, harvesting and more.

Library Aides

Volunteers will help maintain our onsite library. Help us process donated books, keep the library neat and tidy, and assist students as they check out books.

Administrative Work

We need help from a computer literate and detail oriented volunteer to do data entry, organization and general office support work or to volunteer at our front desk to greet guests and answer phones.

READING Buddies & Tutors

Spend time at the Home on weekday evenings helping our residential kids build critical literacy skills. There may also be daytime shifts available working with students in our on site school, Bansbach Academy. We also need science, math, social studies and/or language arts tutors. Help with homework or create enrichment opportunities.

Organize Incoming Donations

When we receive donations, we always need assistance organizing and making sure items get to the right places.

Bi-Lingual Support

We often need help returning calls or assisting families who only speak Spanish.
