Happy Halloween!
The kids have been gearing up for Halloween celebrations all month and it’s finally here! Throughout October and special today, Denver Children’s Home has been full of fun and surprises, from spooky art and projects, to silly costume contests, from games to treats and more.
Letting kids be kids is such an integral part of healing and growing, so at DCH, we make sure that fun and play stay part of who we are at every opportunity! In play, kids learn to manage emotional surprises and develop resilience, imaginative play allows kids to make the rules and assign jobs which require negotiation skills and thinking on their feet, team activities help kids gain a sense of belonging critical to self-esteem.
The kids and teachers did an amazing job decorating classrooms, setting up Halloween skits, and presenting this morning. The votes are in and we’ll see what class brought the most spooky, creative, and entertaining display!
